ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. – YNN is learning more about accusations against a once local well-known martial arts instructor, and a criminal charge he was set to face.

Stephen Lavallee was living in Fort Lauderdale when he was found dead in his home on Monday, police say of an apparent suicide.

According to police reports, just three days earlier, Lavallee and his attorney had been informed that he would be charged with battery. According to those police reports, they were investigating a complaint of sexual advances and inappropriate touching.

The alleged victim, 18 at the time, said Lavallee inappropriately touched him during a massage. The report also mentions a complaint filed by a former student of Lavallee while he was still in Onondaga County. The victim said he was molested twice by Lavallee in 2005 at the age of 13 or 14. He filed the report this year, so the statute of limitations has passed.

Due to the death of Lavallee, the case has been closed.
