STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police arrested a Steuben County teen for vandalism.
Troopers say Cody Smith, 18, caused extensive damage by spray painting a rail along College Avenue in the Town of Corning last month and painting a racial slur on the roadway.
Smith has been charged with making graffiti, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a child.
A 16-year-old was also arrested for making a false written statement.
Police say further charges are pending in the case.
