ITHACA, N.Y. -- A new statue of Martin Luther King Jr. now stands on the Ithaca Commons.
The statue, which was unveiled Friday, faces Martin Luther King Jr. Street, which was renamed from State Street three years ago.
Sculpted by local artist Rob Licht, it's the latest addition to the “Martin Luther King Freedom Walkway,” a trail through Ithaca commemorating places, people and events related to the national struggle for civil right. It was funded by private donations.
