Online Petition to Award West Webster Firefighters Medals of Freedom
A petition has been started to get Medals of Freedom for the four firefighters involved in the Christmas Eve ambush in Webster.
The petition on the White House's website calls for medals also to be awarded to the two firefighters who were killed, Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka.
The petition also seeks honors for the two injured firefighters, Joseph Hofsetter and Theodore Scardino.
A total of 25,000 e-signatures are needed by January 27th for it to be considered by the Obama administration. As of Wednesday morning, it has 2,813.
