By: YNN Staff

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Police in Niagara Falls have released new details about a murder-suicide that happened Monday night.

Police say 37-year-old Peter Daniels strangled his girlfriend, 31-year-old Elizabeth Wilson, and slit her throat at her home on 29th Street.

Police say he then went to his parents' house across the street just before 8 p.m., and he had blood on him. A short time later, he returned to the home and fatally shot himself with a shotgun.

Family members found the bodies.

Police don't yet have a motive.

Three different neighbors on the street say they're stunned about what happened Monday night. They say this is a safe neighborhood where nothing bad ever happens.

According to police in Niagara Falls, officers arrived at the house in the 500 block of 29th Street just before 8 p.m. Monday and found a man and woman dead.

Investigators say it appears to be a murder-suicide and the two were in a relationship. Neighbors tell us the man and his girlfriend were in their 30s, the woman lived in the house alone, and the two really kept to themselves. The man was in the military and was a bodybuilder.

One neighbor we spoke with says he could often hear the couple arguing. Another neighbor says the couple had been in a relationship for a couple of years.

Neighbors said the father of the man involved lives across the street. A gentleman there said the family is too distraught to talk right now.
