SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police put a plea out to the public for more information on the stabbing that happened in one of Syracuse's busiest intersections downtown last Friday afternoon.

Officials say Larry McCraney, 27, of Syracuse, was stabbed multiple times by three people at the corner of Fayette and South Salina Street, the location of Centro's major bus stop in Syracuse. McCraney underwent emergency surgery but has been unconscious since the attack. He remains in critical condition.

Police say it's too early to say whether the victim was targeted by the group that carried out the attack, but officials believe there are people who videotaped the incident on their cell phones and are asking for those videos to be sent to police.

"That was an extremely busy corner when that happened. There weren't any busses there, so a lot of people were waiting for buses. It happened at one o'clock in the afternoon. There was a ton of pedestrian traffic down there. We're estimating that there could be 100 people down there when this attack occurred," said Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan.
