ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Lockheed Martin is moving forward with layoffs announced back in April.
More than a hundred employees at the company's plants in Owego and Salina were notified Tuesday that they'd be losing their jobs, many in the next two weeks.
Between the two plants, Lockheed is cutting 135 positions. Another 180 people accepted compensation packages over the past few months.
This past spring, Lockheed's Mission Systems and Sensors announced plans to cut between 450 and 550 jobs in the United States, or about four percent of its employees, company-wide.
