SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Thursday night Rick Jackson is hoping to make it four straight years and six out of seven that the Orange have had at least one player taken in the annual NBA Draft.

Chances are he'll have to be patient with predictions ranging from mid-to-late 2nd round, to maybe not being drafted at all.

Jackson rubbed elbows with the likes of Larry Legend and other NBA coaches and general managers while criss-crossing the country over the last three and a half weeks.

He visited nine NBA teams personally, and he took part in at least four group efforts including the draft combine in Chicago.

His former position coach at Syracuse Bernie Fine thinks Rick has shown enough to make himself worthy of an NBA team taking a chance.

Even if he is drafted, Jackson's chances of making an NBA roster could be hampered by an impending work stoppage, though he's expected to also receive lucrative offers to play overseas.
