ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Some local students got a behind the scenes look at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles Falls Friday. It was part of a week-long Onondaga Community College camp designed to interest kids in science, technology engineering and math.
The group got to check out a robotics demonstration as part of their tour.
Company officials say it's important to expose students to STEM fields to keep the future workforce strong.
"Having skilled, knowledgeable people who are able to apply themselves, work together as a team and get those things done is absolutely vital. So getting young people interested in those fields, where they're starting to develop that and continue to as they get older, is very important," said Raymond Dromms, Director of Manufacturing Engineering Group.
