BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Darin Gorski pitched six sparking innings and the B-Mets' struggling offense got just enough to beat Akron 2-1 on Saturday to avoid a season-opening sweep.
Gorski struck out seven batters and allowed just one hit which was immediately erased when the batter was thrown out trying for a double.
Binghamton continues its homestand Monday night when Erie comes to town.
