VESTAL, N.Y. -- As impressive as he was coaching the embattled BU hoop team last year, Mark Macon is just as classy off the floor.

Macon confirmed to YNN Wednesday that he was happy to sign on for two more years as only the interim head coach of the Bearcats because he looks forward to the day the still-suspended Kevin Broadus gets his old job back.

Macon took a team decimated by dismissals and defections unanimously picked to finish dead last in the America East and guided the Bearcats to an 8-8 league record and a solid fifth-place finish.

Unfortunately he did not get a chance to finish what he started when BU pulled its team out of the postseason tournament.

But now he'll get at least two more years to see what else he can do, pending Kevin Broadus' potential reinstatement, of course.

Broadus was placed on paid leave last October in the wake of a damaging external audit.
