Training Week 3: Jennifer Scott
This was a crazy week for me. I did not get in as much training as I wanted as my daughter had things going on at school…awards ceremonies and such. But our group ride on Saturday morning proved to be interesting. I was a bit hesitant about going…we are riding the roads around Carousel. Last year, just got the new bike, I could not keep up with anyone and kept getting left behind. I was really scared this year and seriously thought about not going. But again this week, the alarm went off and away I went. I picked a small “slower” group but they really were not too slow. We practiced “announcing” obstacles and rules of the road. At one point in time, I got to actually lead the pack! Quite different from last year when I was in tears because I could not keep up! I have recently lost over 40 pounds and it really has helped me to see myself as a different person and kick my training up to a new level. As I swim, do the core workouts and bike, I think to myself “how did I do this last year with an extra 8 bags of sugar on my body”. I am hoping to be a whole different person by race day!!
