Training Week 4: Jennifer Scott
Well, 4 weeks down and…oh who is counting! If I keep track of how long until my race I will go crazy! One thing I would like to share is that I am down 43 pounds since the beginning of the year. I will continue to drop pounds and I will keep everyone informed as I go along! Had an amazing training week until Saturday. It started out as my rest day on Sunday, then Monday was a fun day running after a friend who was trying to learn to clip on her bike. I felt like I was running after a “new bike rider” who just got her training wheels off. It was a fun afternoon and wow did I sweat. Tuesday…normal day. Then comes Wednesday…my favorite day of the week!! Swim and Katey’s killer core workout! I love that I cannot walk the next day and am still sore Friday when I do it again! Then, the dreaded Saturday! Last year I had some issues riding the trails of Longbranch Park in Liverpool. So this year, I was bound and determined to conquer it! I had a great ride last Saturday with the group and thought my group riding fears were over. Well, as we were riding, my anxiety level was growing, growing, growing! I ended up having to cut my ride short and head back to the parking lot. Because I ended my ride early, I went for a run…and yes, I actually ran. Not just a fast walk but I jogged! For anyone that knows me, jogging is a new thing for me. I am bound and determined to work on that aspect of the tri more than any other. After my “run”, I put my bike shoes on and participated in the “circle of death” skill challenge. The wet, bumpy grass made for a tough skills challenge but congrats to all the people who made it through and did not fall. It is always a fun one to watch! Until next week…happy training!
