SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- With National Health Center Week underway, the Syracuse Community Health Center held an event Tuesday to highlight the importance of immunizations.

The National Health Center keeps communities aware and up-to-date about beneficial immunization shots that are made available to them. Officials say their overall goal is to stop the spread of illness and diseases that can be prevented with the shots.

The event held Tuesday featured games for people to learn in a fun way about disease prevention and health care centers in the area.

“It's very important because you never know when you need your shots and stuff like that, what kind of shots you're missing out on, the names of certain shots. It's just good to get immunization," said Syracuse resident Annette Bowman.
