No new trial for Oxley
ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A St. Lawrence County judge has decided not to grant a new trial or dismiss charges against convicted murderer Wayne Oxley.

Oxley was found guilty last November of beating Bernard Trickey, 39, to death with a baseball bat.

In October Oxley's lawyer Richard Manning asked for a new trial claiming that a letter written by an inmate stated that someone other than Oxley committed the murder. Manning also asked the judge to recuse himself from the case.

Judge Jerome Richards denied the motion to vacate the conviction and chose not to recuse himself.

Oxley can now appeal to the state appellate court.
