ALBANY, N.Y. -- Fallen Cape Vincent EMT Mark Davis was honored Wednesday in Albany as EMS personnel from across the state paid tribute to first responders who've died in the line of duty.
Davis and two other paramedics had their names added to the New York State EMS Memorial.
Several members of the state legislator were in attendance, as well as the families of the men being honored.
Davis' mother echoed the sentiments of many family members, saying her son died the way he lived -- helping others.
"It helps. You know, when you see everyone standing up and caring, just like we would want them to do, it does, there's a lot of closure to that," said Marsha Dickinson, Davis' mother.
The memorial was created six years ago and now contains nearly 40 names.
