BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- One of Binghamton's own will be heading to the Westminster Dog Show in New York City.

The Binghamton University nursing show dog, Francesca, will compete for top honors at the February show. The three-year-old Cardigan Welsh Corgi belongs to the Dean of the nursing school who says being at Westminster has always been a dream of hers.

"When I was young, I would watch, in those days it wasn't televised, but I would watch to see who won Westminster, what was the dog. The thought of being down there and having a dog in the show is just amazing to me," said Joyce Ferrario, Dean of Decker School of Nursing.

Ferrario says one of Francesca's biggest challenges will be standing for eight hours.
