BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Some area business leaders are taking the initiative to help students guarantee they have a job when they graduate.

The civic entrepreneurship class at Binghamton University met with local business leaders in Binghamton Friday to discuss entrepreneurship. The goal of the class is to give students the leadership and skills they need to start their own business when they graduate rather than looking for a job.

"The statistics are, right now, that there are about 25 percent of undergrads under the age of 25 who cannot find jobs. Most of these students have been looking and searching everywhere. Yet they have these great ideas they have this great background," said Jane Donatich, CIC2020 Executive Director.

Officials feel the roundtables are a great way to start a mentorship with leaders in the community. More roundtables will be held with the students as the semester continues.
