TIOGA COUNTY, PA. -- The man shot by state police Saturday night in Tioga County has been upgraded to fair condition at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

Joel Shelley, the son of Onondaga County sheriff's deputy Toby Shelley, was shot after a confrontation in the Town of Barton.

Investigators say Shelley threatened troopers with a shotgun, before leading them on a police chase through Tioga County.

When troopers finally pulled Shelley over they say he got out of his car and started walking at them with the shotgun forcing troopers to fire.

Charges against Shelley are still pending at this time.
