New plan unveiled to regulate natural gas drilling
PENNSYLVANIA -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has unveiled details of a new plan to regulate the state's natural gas industry.

Corbett told a crowd in Pittsburgh Monday that new jobs and lower energy bills will result from hydrofracking the Marcellus Shale. Under the new plan, counties will be able to impose an impact fee to help pay for the cost to regulate the drilling and fix any damage it causes to the environment.

Most of the fee would go to drilling, while 25 percent would go to the state for environmental protection, road and bridge improvements, and more.
