BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Lourdes Mission in Motion received a donation to aid in breast cancer awareness.

The Mission in Motion cycling team presented the mobile mammography program with a check for $1,500 Friday. The money was raised by auctioning off a helmet autographed by Lance Armstrong, as well as through the team's yearly winnings.

Team members say it's a meaningful cause for members of the cycling team.

"As a team, we got together and decided that we all knew somebody affected by breast cancer and this cause is very near and dear to our hearts and the people on the team," team manager Marsha Kapimus said.

The cycling team has donated more than $10,000 to the Lourdes mobile mammography program over the past six years.
