Man charged with bringing gun to airport
BIG FLATS, N.Y. -- The man arrested for bringing weapons into the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport earlier this week has been formally charged.
Michael Rinehart, 53, was arrested on Monday while attempting to board a U.S. Air flight with a loaded handgun and two knives.
Rinehart was arraigned in Big Flats Town Court and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. It's still unclear why he had the weapons in his carry-on luggage, but Rinehart did post $100,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be back in court on January 3rd.
