SYRACUSE, N.Y. - With Syracuse desperately needing someone to step up on offense against Georgetown Wednesday, Kris Joseph answered the call with a career-high 29 points to lead the Orange to a 64-61 overtime win.
Joseph reached the total thanks in large part to making a career-high six 3-pointers on 11 attempts and also had five rebounds and three steals.
The victory pushed Jim Boeheim past Dean Smith for third place on the Division I career wins list with 880, but Boeheim said afterward milestones are far from his mind as he's just focusing on getting his team better as the postseason nears.
