BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Top Mets prospect Zack Wheeler was not at his sharpest on Thursday as he admitted a 10:35 morning start time affected him, but the B-Mets' offense had his back as a late surge gave Binghamton an 8-5 win over Reading.
Wheeler went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three. Binghamton trailed 3-2 when he left then scored one in the sixth inning, two in the seventh, and three in the eighth to pull ahead for good.
