AUBURN, N.Y. -- A former Auburn police officer has been found guilty of embezzling money from a Police Benevolent Association fund.
A judge found Brian Hutchings guilty on all counts for stealing thousands of dollars from the fund when he served as treasurer.
Hutchings had been previously fired from the Auburn Police Department for his role in a scheme to extort money from local businesses. His conviction in this case includes 11 counts, including grand larceny and fraud.
Sentencing is set for the end of July.
