CORNING, N.Y. -- A Corning man is behind bars after being accused of raping a child. State Police said that Daren Phillips, 45, provided alcohol and engaged in sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 14.

He was arraigned on a charge of second degree rape and is being held at Steuben County Jail on $35,000 bail. Phillips is due back in court next month.
