SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Six people were displaced from a home in the City of Syracuse following a fire.
The fire broke out just before 3:40 a.m. Tuesday on the second floor porch of the Davis Street house.
Luckily, everyone was able to get out safely and the Red Cross is now assisting.
Fire officials say one issue was that they didn't know how many residents were involved.
"Up until probably 30, 35 minutes into it, nobody tried to contact us and they're right across the street watching the fire and you know people just don't think of it to meet us and give us some kind of information that we can use," said Deputy Chief Bill Miston, Syracuse Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
