ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A fire caused extensive damage to a string of garages at the Norstar Apartments in Liverpool. The fire broke out around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Cars and personal belongings are badly burned. One resident said he drove up from his vacation in Rhode Island overnight after getting a call that his unit was on fire.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
