JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Jefferson County man who police say burglarized a convenience store and led them on a high speed chase has been indicted by a grand jury.
Zachary Piche, 21, faces 23 counts, including charges of second-degree burglary, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawfully fleeing a police officer.
Police said in January that Piche broke into the Nice N' Easy in Chaumont, stole cash and items, and used a stolen shotgun to shoot out a door and also hit windows.
He left the store, leading police on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed his car on I-81, flipping it over off the on-ramp for the Bradley Street exit.
