BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The 50th annual July Festival is underway in Binghamton. Court Street is closed off to traffic and vendor tents have been set up to entice people to come out and enjoy the summer weather.
With music planned throughout the weekend as well as the First Friday art walk, organizers say July Fest has a little something for everyone. Thousands are expected to walk the streets throughout the weekend and those we spoke with say it's a good way to unwind, even if it is just for a little while.
"I think everybody has stress in their lives with jobs and even the weather and just to get away from it for a while is a great thing to do," said Bob Hatala, B&B Kettle Korn.
Construction on the Court Street Roundabout has been halted for the duration of the weekend so people can enjoy the sights and sounds of the festival without the distraction of work crews.
