STATEWIDE -- Governor Andrew Cuomo announced more funding will be handed out to areas across the state impacted by Tropical Storm Irene and the remnants of Lee.
The New York Works program is awarding $9 million in flood mitigation and flood control grants to 23 counties. The grants will help repair waterways and safeguard infrastructure from future flood events.
The state is also providing an additional $7 million so counties can meet their 25 percent non-federal match requirements for stream restoration projects.
