Man rescued from Six Mile Creek Gorge in Ithaca
ITHACA, N.Y. -- A 20-year-old man was rescued from the Six Mile Creek Gorge in Ithaca after jumping 50 feet into an off-limits swimming area.
Authorities say a call came in around 2 p.m. Saturday, reporting the man had jumped into water and possibly hurt his head.
Firefighters and ambulance crews were able to provide basic life support before the man was airlifted to a trauma center. No word yet on his condition.
Meanwhile, officials are urging everyone to only swim in designated and safe areas.
