NEW YORK STATE -- The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has announced a voluntary recall on cheese produced by Productos Tita Corporation in Queens due to improper pasteurization.
The cheese has been sold under the brand name "Tita" in a number of stores across the metropolitan New York area. It was sold in plastic pouches or rectangular clear plastic tubs with a plant code number of 368440
So far, no illnesses have been reported, but there is a risk for listeria and salmonella if the cheese is consumed.
