Teacher arrested on drug charges
STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Corning-Painted Post High School teacher has been arrested on drug charges.
Corning Police say they received a complaint about someone asking a local pharmacy employee to steal narcotics in exchange for money.
After investigating, police arrested Heather Darcangelo, 38, and charged her with attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police say they arrested her when she arrived at Corning’s Centerway Square to buy the drugs.
A Corning-Painted Post School District spokesman confirms that Darcangelo is an English teacher at Corning West High School.
After her arraignment, Darcangelo was sent to the Steuben County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
