FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Franklin County death has been officially ruled a homicide.

Human remains were found behind a Chateaugay home last week. The deceased has tentatively been identified as Dale Jarvis Sr., 48.

Jarvis had not been seen since February, but his family did not report him missing because he was known to leave home for long periods of time.

The cause of death is not being released at this time, but the coroner did rule it a homicide.
