Man arrested on animal cruelty charges
CORTLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Cortland County man faces animal cruelty charges after being arrested Friday in Homer.
Investigators say Joseph Thomas Jr., 62, shot his neighbor's dog with a pellet rifle back on July 18th, injuring the dog.
Thomas has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals and could face up to a year in prison if convicted.
Thomas was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in Town of Homer Court on August 21st.
