WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. - Juan Pablo Montoya became the first NASCAR driver to top 127 miles per hour at Watkins Glen International during Sprint Cup Series qualifying on Saturday to win the pole for the Finger Lakes 355 and Cup regular Carl Edwards won the Nationwide Series Zippo 200.

Montoya was one of five drivers to break the old track speed record, set just last year. It's his second-straight pole following last week's win at Pocono and he hopes it will lead to his second win at the Glen, the first of which was his last victory in 2010. Cato native Regan Smith qualified 13th.

Edwards was making his first Nationwide Series start of the season and came away with his 38th career win on the circuit in 245 starts.
