SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse's Rosamond Gifford Zoo is welcoming two baby snow leopard cubs into its big family. The male cubs were born to parents Zena and Senge on June 14th. Zoo officials say it's been 14 years since snow leopard cubs were born at the zoo.

The snow leopard cubs will be on display each day from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and then 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Zoo officials say the snow leopards will likely be relocated to other zoos in the country in the spring, after they get to experience some of the cold weather they're used to in their normal habitats.

"Snow leopards are probably the most excited about snow out of any of the animals we have here at the zoo so we're looking forward to the first snow and watching them and hopefully we'll get some great footage of them in the snow when it finally arrives," said Ted Fox, Zoo Director.

The baby cubs haven't been named yet, so the zoo is inviting the public to participate in a naming contest. You can submit names through August 22nd and the winning names will be announced September 4th. Visit www.rosamondgiffordzoo.org/naming-contest for more information about the contest.
