VERNON, N.Y. - With longtime friend Tiger Woods on his team, Notah Begay III finally claimed victory in the fifth year of his NB3 Foundation Challenge at Turning Stone Resort's Atunyote Golf Club on Wednesday.
Woods, Begay, Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland, Cristie Kerr, and Lexi Thompson combined to shoot 24-under par for the West team for a three-stroke victory over their East counterparts from Asia: K.J. Choi, Y.E. Yang, Danny Lee, Charlie Wi, top-ranked LPGA player Yani Tseng, and hall of famer Se Ri Pak.
The NB3 Foundation raises money and awareness to combat obesity and type 2 diabetes among Native American youth. Nearly $4 million has been raised in the five years of the golf event.
