Recommended 2013 budget released
TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Stability was the theme as Tompkins County's Administrator delivered his recommended 2013 budget to the legislature Tuesday night.
The $164 million spending plan boasts one of the lowest property tax increases of the past 15 years, with a hike just under 3.5 percent. Total spending is also projected to increase by just four-tenths of one percent.
The county administrator said, "The recommended budget is the first in four years to reflect stability, rather than further retrenchment."
