ALBANY, N.Y. -- A former Owego businessman is appealing his murder conviction. Cal Harris, 51, is asking the state's top court to decide if he was fairly convicted of murdering his wife or if he was presumed guilty due to insufficient circumstantial evidence.
Michele Harris was last seen either leaving work on the night of the September 11th terror attacks or the following morning, when she may have been arguing with another man outside her home.
Cal Harris was convicted even though a murder weapon and her body have not been found.
Arguments are being heard today at the Court of Appeals in Albany and a ruling is expected sometime next month. Harris is currently serving 25 years to life in the Auburn Correctional Facility.
