Ricotta Salata Frescolina brand cheese being recalled
UNITED STATES -- A Colorado based cheese company is recalling a brand of their cheese for possible listeria contamination.
Forever Cheese Inc. is recalling Ricotta Salata Frescolina brand cheese with the lot number T9425 and production code 441202.
The Colorado Health Department says that 14 cases of the listeria illness surfaced in 11 states and that they may be linked to the cheese.
The company says the cheese was distributed to restaurants and retailers between June 20th and August 9th.
Listeria is a bacterial infection most commonly contracted by eating contaminated food.
