Pacherille sentence being appealed

OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- An appeal has been field in the case of Anthony Pacherille Jr. The Cooperstown teenager is serving an 11 year prison term for the attempted murder of fellow teen, Wesley Lippitt, because he is black.

Pacherille's attorney has appealed the sentence, saying the judge should have sentenced his client to a youthful offender status.

At the time of sentencing, Judge Brian Brown said the length of the sentence was meant to show Wesley Lippitt, and the community, there's no place in the world for the belief that one race is superior to another.
