NEW YORK STATE -- Governor Cuomo announced more than 3,200 new jobs are coming to New York State as part of the Recharge New York program.

Thirty-eight companies around the state will be increasing their workforce through the program.

Recharge New York is run by the New York Power Association and was launched several months after Governor Cuomo took office. It provides low cost power to businesses and other organizations that agree to create or retain jobs.

More than 600 businesses and 76 non-profit organizations have taken advantage of the program since its inception.

"They resulted in the retention of 385,000 jobs and a commitment of $31 billion in projected capital investment," said Gil C. Quiniones, NYPA President and CEO.

The latest round of grants totals more than $7 billion.
