MAYVILLE, N.Y. — Chautauqua County Sheriffs believe Anthony Robert Taglianetti II shot and killed Clymer Superintendent Keith Reed on Friday.

"He is a suspect. He is who we believe is responsible for the murder of Mr. Reed," Sheriff Joseph Gerace said.

"Through the sheriff's investigation, we have information that puts Mr. Taglianetti in Clymer on Friday," District Attorney David Foley said.

Investigators didn't say what the motive was. They said Reed and Taglianetti were familiar with each other.

"The situation has nothing to do with Mr. Reed's capacity as a superintendent," Foley said. "It was a personal issue and not a professional one."

Authorities have released little information about Taglianetti. But according to a LinkedIn webpage that appears to belong to the 42-year-old Virginian, he is a historian, has an extensive history with the Marines, and received two Master's degrees from SUNY at Albany.

"We believe at this point in time he has fled the state and we are using every law enforcement resource available to locate this individual," Gerace said.

While the sheriff said the murder was not a random act, he said the suspect should still be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities are looking for any information that could lead to Taglianetti's arrest. He is believed to be in Virginia.
