STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police said he stole a gun and a car, and forced some schools in Steuben County to go into lockdown. However, Tyler Davis, 19, is now in custody.

The search for Davis began on Tuesday afternoon after a report of a suspicious person and vehicle. Officials located the car near Avoca Central Schools, but it was unoccupied. Because of that, schools in the area were put on lockdown for two hours.

At that point, Davis was seen running into the woods. After several hours of searching, Davis was taken into custody on County Route 7 near Avoca at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He is charged with criminal possession of stolen property, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
