Pennsylvania State Police searching for wanted Towanda man

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Bradford County man after he allegedly led them on a vehicle pursuit and threatened to throw chemicals at a Trooper.

It started when police attempted to pull over a vehicle with a suspended registration near Borden and McNeal Road in Burlington Township on September 22nd. The suspect, later identified as Jonathan Butler, 34, of Towanda, refused to pull over and led police on a short chase. He then allegedly got out of his vehicle with a chemical police say is often used to make meth.

Investigators say Butler then threatened to throw the chemical at a Trooper and told the officer to shoot him so that the chemical would blow up. He then ran into a wooded area and an arrest warrant was immediately issued.

Butler is facing charges of attempted aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, terrorist threats, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Butler, State Police are asking you to give them a call at (570) 265-2186.
