Attempted robbery of cab driver
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police are investigating the attempted robbery of a cab driver.
Police say a driver for Bellavia Taxi picked up four teenagers near South Warren Street just before 6:45 p.m. Monday. The four said they wanted to go to Thornden Park. But on the way, the driver claims he asked for a more specific drop off point, and they wouldn't answer.
He says he grew suspicious and asked them to get out. That's when one of the teens allegedly threatened him with a knife and demanded money. The driver told them he didn't have any money, and they left.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (315) 442-5222.
