Syracuse Police investigate two robberies

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police are investigating two separate robberies today, both on the city's north side.
The first robbery happened around 9:45 p.m. Thursday on the 2500 block of James Street. The victim told police he was walking home from work when he was approached by two men. Police say the suspects attacked the victim, hitting and kicking him. The victim suffered minor injuries on his face and head.
The second robbery was at 10:30 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of Nichols Avenue. Police say the victim was walking home when a man approached her. They say the suspect tried to take the victim's purse and knocked her to the ground.
Police do not know whether the two robberies are related, but anyone with information about either is asked to call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
