Woman charged in infant's death
BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. -- A Sayre woman faces charges for the death of an infant. Police arrested Janae Jennings, 31, following an investigation into the death of a five-month-old girl from back in May of 2011.
Police are not releasing the details of the child's death, but the Towanda Daily Review reports that, according to the criminal affidavit, the infant died while sleeping in bed with Jennings. The affidavit said Jennings told the police she failed to put a breathing monitor around the child's chest. The monitor has been prescribed because Jenning's son died when he was only 27-days-old.
The paper reports that an autopsy showed the child died from asphyxiation while co-sleeping. Jennings is now charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
